A Planner Plans: The Good Life

Oh blog, how I've missed thee. I can't believe it's been over a month since my last confession.

I took a short hiatus from the blog to really buckle down and concentrate on life as a Bride and not just a planner. The truth is, during the majority of the year, I spent more time being a planner, than a bride. I wanted to make sure I didn't blink and miss the moments that count.

I have so much to catch up on and lots to share both from our wedding and those of my gorgeous 2010 couples. In the meantime I leave you with one sneak peak from our awesome videographers (yes, you read that correctly videographers) at Illumimoto Cinema and a heartfelt, Happy New Year!

New Year, New Dreams, New Bling

It's so ironic that not too long ago I started the Tis the season blog posts. The post were short lived as the reality of engagement season, existing client needs, industry events and the holiday took shape.

2009 was a great year for us. We witnessed many couples begin their new lives together, welcomed quite a few POSH "bundles", and successfully expanded our POSH team. We presented at industry conferences and also in our first bridal show. In short, we had a phenomenal year.

2010 is full of promise as we are quickly approaching full capacity (we limit the number of weddings we take so that we can offer exceptional personalized service for all of our couples) and have begun booking for 2011.

Early in the year we will be unveiling a few new changes that we are sure that you will enjoy...more on that to come soon, I promise.

With the new year also came new personal change. On New Years Eve, my very best friend became my fiance. I look forward to sharing this experience with you as well as I juggle my planner and bride hats. I've said it before, but reiterate, I am truly blessed.

Of course, it would just be cruel to end the post without a little "eye" candy, so here you go...

Reflection

It's the last post of the year and I'll be honest, I've started and stopped this one quite a few times. I struggled a bit finding the exact words to describe what an incredible year 2008 has been for me.

When I started my career I had no idea the business would be what it is today. On the surface I think it looks easy. It should. The truth however, is that to be good in this industry, you internalize the pressures of others-clients, vendors, families. Raising the bar is something that is consistent. Accepting the challenge of being better with every event is as well.

Professionally '08 proved to be phenomenal. We were featured in more publications than ever before, blessed with new found professional relationships, the blog has been a success and POSH developed from more than just a new name, it has become a brand and one that I'm proud to own.

Personally, I have been blessed beyond measure with a family that amazes me everyday. A son that continues to exceed my expectations and a support system that makes every day possible.

And yet on the last day of 2008, many, many, many blog posts after the first, I just can't find the words to recap my year so I'll borrow those listed on the home page of my website:

"I wake up every day in love with so many aspects of my life. POSH represents the evolution of my passion, the success of doing what I know I do best. I've been fortunate enough to have been mentored by some of the "best" in their fields; people who have encouraged me and taught me that it is ok to "not be the norm". I, in turn, encourage my Clients to think outside the box and have an event they wish they could relive every day. I am truly honored that so many individuals have entrusted me with the biggest days of their lives."

So thank you all for another great season. For every blog post and email offline letting me know i've inspired you in some way and from our family to yours, have a happy, healthy and safe New Year!

Looking Back

If I told you how many times I've started and stopped this post, you wouldn't even believe me. This is an emotional one for me for sure.

If I had to sum up 2007 for POSH Events, in one word, it would be growth.

As we approach our 5th year in the business, this has by far been the most memorable. We've changed our name to a name which more accurately reflects our vision to be "smart, fashionable, stylish and educated", expanded our staff and opened a new office.

Our weddings have gone from small and intimate for 46 to large gatherings of 300+ where the secret service joined those on the guest list. From the beach to the ballroom to the Military Fort, this year,we've pretty much have seen it all.

While our Grooms ranged from salesman to politicians to NFL players our Brides were educated, fashionable and extremely poised; and their weddings certainly reflected it.

Our vendors have proven that they can and will defy the odds and time and time again have helped us to make the process appear to be seemless.

We were also extremely fortunate to share in welcoming little bundles of joys for many of our 2006 couples as well as preparing for little angels from our 2007 newlyweds.

Of course my greatest achievement this year was the birth of my son Christian. In having him I truly learned the meaning of unconditional love and the miracle of life.

It's been a good year. From the bottom of my heart I say thank you to all that have entrusted, inspired and endured with us.

Cheers to the New Year!
