Sweet Treat

I always advise my couples that if they're not going to do a favor which is edible or contributory to the environment or a worthy cause, they may as well pass. Many couples lose sleep over giving guests that last little reminder of the night and in my opinion, if you've thrown a fabulous reception (and had a meaningful ceremony)rest assured, they will remember.

If in fact you would like to say "merci" one more time before your guests leave, follow the lead of my colleague and friend Shayna Walker Wedle of Williamsburg Wedding Design and say it with a BANG!



When Shayna first described what she and her team were affectionally referring to as the "massive" display I just couldn't imagine. I mean, I myself have done candy buffets for upwards of 225 guests but this, this should really win an award.

Favor Competition

Are you a Bride,Bridesmaid, Mothers-of-the-Bride & Groom, Shower Hostesses, Party Hostesses, Expecting Mom or someone Who Cares About Fighting Against Suffering Caused by Breast Cancer? Do you want to show off your creativity and knack for "design" and win a prize?

My very good friend and amazing colleague, Shayna Walker of Williamsburg Wedding Design, is hosting the 1st annual Bridal, Mom & Baby Shower Sunday May 4, 2008 from 1-4 @ Alumni House of the College of William & Mary. Admission is only $5 in advance and $7 at the door.



For all of you local Brides and Grooms, even if you can not physically attend the event, you can still Show off Your Creativity in the Best Favor Competition via photo submission. Photos of all favors will be featured on the Williamsburg Wedding Design blog and Showcase guests will vote for winners in the following categories:


Best Bridal Shower Favor
Best Wedding Favor
Best Baby Shower Favor
Most Unusual Favor Ever


The Rules & Guidelines are simple:
One entry per person - choose one category in which to compete.
You must register to participate.
Prizes to be announced prior to May 4 on The Williamsburg Wedding Design website and blog.
Winners will be notified and posted immediately after the event!

Couldn't have said it better if I tried

So I wont.

I read the most awesome blog post today from a great friend and fellow colleague, Shayna Walker Wedle of Williamsburg Design. Now Shayna and I are working on the 3 year mark of friendship and I'm honored to say I've been fortunate enough to work with her in beautiful Williamsburg,Virginia(DEFINITELY For lovers). I've also shared a room with her on an excursion to visit another fellow Coordinator, Kelly McWilliams of Weddings by Socialites, when we both hopped on planes(never actually meeting each other prior to that) to fly all the way to Florida to meet Kelly (who we also never met and only knew from and online forum) and at the annual 21st Century Nuptials seminar given by Lynnette Richardson-Hall... but as I read this post, I realize just how similarly we think.
