Trick or Treat

Call me partial, but how CUTE is he? Today was Christian's first photo shoot since he graced the world with his presence (mommy & baby have maternity portraits courtesy of my fav photographers AnnMarie & Marv at The Photo Loft) and overall he did a great job.

Such a MIGHTY LION, my little one.

Excellent Find

My very good friend and fellow Philadelphia Wedding Planner, Meredith Sellers Tomasulo of Elegant Engagements shared a find with me that I couldn't WAIT to share! If you have considered creating the hanging votive tree for your centerpieces, entrance table or ANYWHERE else in your reception space, boy will you be relieved! Ballard Designs, which I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE is offering a Twig Votive Tree for a steal price of $60, that is a close replica to it's Manzanita branch counterpart.

If you are not familiar with the Manzanita branch and you are considering creating the hanging votive tree, believe me, you and the Manzanita will become one. For hanging votives, Manzanitas work best because of their stiff rich bark and twisting branches, which are perfect for supporting the weight of the votive candle/holder. Manzanitas tend to be on the "pricey" side however, so if you are looking to save a little bit of money, the right type of curly willow will also do the trick. But now, thanks to Ballard, you have an alternative solution to acheive a similar look. How sweet is that?

Shaken not stirred

As a Grey Goose Cosmo lover, I was so excited at the sight of these awesome martini glasses featured on Red Envelope. Are these not absolutely FABULOUS??? Can we say...shower gift?

Friday

WIP

As in "work in progress" and the current state of the new POSH office in Merchantville, NJ. Just wanted to share a few more updated pictures. It is my mission to complete the final "touches" in conjunction with the end of the season and the holidays...Wish me luck!

Are these not the most FABULOUS linens you've ever seen? The camera lighting actually distorts the linen just a little, but it's a combination of fuschia, "burnt" orange and sage and it is truly gorgeous. Thank you Bette @ Select Event Rental in Pennsauken, NJ for supplying amazing linens as usual! (PS. We are still working on the tablescape...)

Also, did you check out the wall art. Look familiar? The logo is courtesy of one of my absolute favorite wedding resources- Wonderful Graffiti.

Chocolate and Weddings mmm.....

So, two of my favorite things, one great location-doesn't get much better than that!

The 10th Annual Chocolate show will take place at the Metropolitan Pavillion & Altman Building in Manhattan, from November 9-11th. The Opening Night Preview, featuring Fashion Show is actually on Thursday, November 8th from 6:30-10:30pm. If you're not familiar with the show, just imagine all of the chocolate industry giants together in one location, traveling the world from Paris to Japan to New York, where 40,000 square feet welcomes exhibitors from across the globe.

Tickets may be purchased online for $28. How much sweeter can it get?

If you plan to attend, please email me at isis@posheventsllc.com and we'll be sure to meet up during the event!

Station-airy

Consider your invitation your guests first look into your event, a "coming attraction" if you may. As someone in the business, I personally appreciate both the aesthetic look and feel of formal invitations. As a couple, you may find that you're inundated with so many choices, you become overwhelmed. Design styles range from classic and traditional, to contemporary and modern, while printing styles include engraved, thermographed, printed and calligraphed.

Some of my absolute favorite invitations can be found in the Loula Press wedding album, courtesy of Louella Press, sister company to Two Paperdolls. Not only are the hand-engraved invitations beautiful, I appreciate the artistic elements incorporated within each individual design. The best part...Loula is local and right in PA! for those couples planning from a distance, don't worry...the albums are now available in a number of boutiques across the country and across the world!

Dale and Thomas

One of my FAVOR-ite favors at weddings receptions are, well... anything edible! While it's common for Martha Stewart inspired Candy buffets, I've also been fortunate enough to have a variety of other buffets make a guest appearance at many of our events. From candy to candy apples to cookies and brownies, anything that can fit into a "cute" glass container, we've done.

What am I loving lately, Dale & Thomas popcorn. Known for being one of Oprah Winfrey's Favorite things, Dale & Thomas is an industry leader in taking popcorn to the absolute next level! With a variety including caramel, country cheddar, backyard bbq, peanut butter white chocolate, and cookies n' cream what's there not to love? My personal favorite, chocolate chunkin' caramel, mmmmm...

So, if you're looking to take your event to the next level, why not put a spin on a classic favorite and wow your guests with a "sweet" treat for the end of the night! Your guests and your taste buds will thank you.

It's ok to be green...

In this instance for sure!

I was tagged by my very good friend and amazing colleague Kelly McWilliams of Weddings By Socialites
for the Green Tage game. Here's the deal... you have to list your contribution to maintaining an eco-friendly, green environment and at POSH, we do try our best:

1. We've begun requesting increased communication with our couples via email. No more paper just scanning faxing (Don't you just love PDF!)
2. My staff and I travel in no more than 3 cars on Wedding Day. Between my vehicle and those of my staff, we can accomodate travel of 18 people in 3 cars.
3. I often encourage our Clients to utilize the facility ceremony space, providing it's a good fit. Having your ceremony and reception in the same location is a great way to eliminate transportation/ travel needs for your guests as well as doing your part for pollution.
4. Within the last year, we've replaced almost all of the lighting sources as well as about 80% of the windows (and trust me, there are quite a few) in our home, to more energy efficient sources-not only is it great for the environment, it's great for the green in your pocket as well!

Eve + Joe

Eve & Joe were by far one of the most amazing and loving couples I've met in a long time. I've mentioned them a few times on past blogs because I really commend them for staying true to their love for each other and the dream of having a Wedding which reflected their signature style. The theme for the event was "texture" and with the long distance assistance of Eve's mother and Aunt, after 13 months we certainly achieved the look of love for this California "girl" and her sailor Knight in shining armor!

The ceremony took place at Old St. Joseph's in Old City, Philadelphia, while The Moshulu set the perfect stage for an evening reception with a one of a kind view of the Philadelphia skyline.

"Touches"

I often receive inquiries regarding the POSH "Touches" package and specifically what it entails. They say a picture is worth a thousand words so...

It's a girl!

As rewarding as my job is, it's even more rewarding to continue to share with the special moments of my couple's lives. One of my favorite (and funniest) Brides from last year, Julie, just informed me that her and her husband Dan, welcomed their precious daughter into the world last thursday. Grace Eleanore "graced" the world on September 27th, 2007 weighing 7lbs., 9oz.

Congrats Julie & Dan and welcome Grace!

Introducing the NEW Mr and Mrs...

I recently was contacted by a company who has mastered what I consider to be an ingenious invention. An easy way for new Brides to endure the pain staking process of changing their names. Let's be honest-As much as we may love our new "hubby to be", losing your name is hard enough. Losing your name and spending countless hours to do so, is a whole other story!

So, for all of you soon to be brides who will have to change your name on documents such as your social security card, passport, bank accounts, insurance id cards, drivers license, etc, definitely check out the website! For $29.95 you can complete the entire name change form letters for all of the documents mentioned above (and more) online. How much easier could it be?

Look what I found!

Nicholas Feulillatte champagnes are as legendary as the man himself. While I was very aware of the brand, I was not aware of the brand packaging! If these are not the cutest champagne bottles, I don't know what is! Want a favor sure to leave an impression on your guests? Definitely go for one of these bottles. Not only are they delicious, they are gorgeous and can add a little flair to your event!
